WHAT and WHY?:

Corvallis Junior Running Club (CJRC) is a for-fun, after school running program beginning in September. The Club is to share the joy of running, get students outside and active, and awaken interest in competitive running, which becomes “Cross-Country” in middle and high school.

 

WHO?:

CJRC is open to boys and girls at Corvallis Primary who are entering 3rd and 4th grade, Fall of 2023.

 

WHEN?:

The CJRC season will last for 5 weeks, starting the week school begins and ending in early October. Runners will have two, 30-minute “practices” a week after school. Runners will be able to compete in weekend races against Hamilton students , and sometimes against other schools as well, especially if they choose to run in the big, Mountain West Invitational Race at the University of Montana.

To-Do:

 

1) Join the Remind group for “Running Club.”

 2) Get a physical (form can be sent to you).

 3) Set aside $15 for t-shirt, or $25 if you also want to run at the Mountain West Invitational.

 4) Consider what shoes you will have to run in come September.

 5) Wait for more info during the summer from the coaches, which will arrive through Remind.
