Corvallis School District is pleased to announce that Richie Borden has been named the new principal at Corvallis Middle School, pending board approval. Richie Borden is currently the assistant principal at Corvallis Middle School. He replaces Rich Durgin who made the decision to end his education career by going back to the classroom to teach eighth grade science in Corvallis.

Richie Borden holds sixteen years of educational experience as a teacher and administrator. He has been the middle school assistant principal for the past two years.  Prior to this, he was the high school principal in Ennis, Montana. Richie also has taught Health Enhancement and Physical Education at the Corvallis Primary School.  Richie did his undergraduate work at the University of Montana and holds his master's degree from Montana State University.

Upon acceptance of his new position, Mr. Borden stated, “I’ve been lucky to spend thirteen of my sixteen years as an educator here in Corvallis. My family and I are thrilled and blessed to reinvest in a school that has given us so much. Go, Blue Devils!”

Jon Konen, Superintendent, commented, “We are extremely proud to announce Richie Borden as the next Principal of Corvallis Middle School.  Mr. Borden’s interest in Corvallis and the Bitterroot is sincere. His interest and focus on developing each student as a whole person is commendable. He will continue to bring out the best in Corvallis and, I believe, Corvallis will bring out the best in him.”

Please help them and the Corvallis School District in welcoming Mr. Richie Borden to his new position and congratulating Mr. Rich Durgin on a successful teaching and administrative career serving the families of Corvallis.
